The office building of Doxiadis Associates International Co. Ltd. is one of Greece’s earliest and most authentic expressions of the brutalist code of Le Corbusier. Situated on the slope of Lycabettus hill, this large structure "builds the landscape", downgrading the natural beauty and historic importance of the site.
The building is a complex of office and educational buildings. It includes a theatre and amphitheatre, library, meeting hall and underground parking facilities. It was designed to house the activities of Doxiadis’s international firm and school. Later it was expanded and acquired additional functions.
The architectural composition is developed around a central courtyard-atrium, through which one enters the building. The building volume is split and laid out in steps, conforming to the slope of the terrain.
The treatment of the faces is simple and transparent, with a clear distinction between structural elements and fill-in elements of beton brut (bare concrete). Earth tones were used on the faces: grey, terracotta and ochre.
